Central Asia’s Largest Mosque
Nur Sultan Grand Mosque, designed by Dewan Architects & Engineers, is in
the capital of Kazakhstan. It has a closed area of 68,060 m² and an open
courtyard of 6300 m² and is located on approximately 10.03 hectares of land. It
has a 63 meter diameter and 83 meter high main dome, a total of 73 domes and
4 minarets of 130 meters. It is planned as a touristic viewing terrace of one of
the minarets. Nur Sultan Grand Mosque will be one of the largest mosques in
Central Asia, with a total prayer area of 30,000 people together with the main
prayer hall of 18.175 m². Apart from prayer halls and ablution halls for 30,000
people, it also includes many different functions such as conference and
wedding halls, VIP rooms for guests, classes, offices, library, banquet hall for
funeral dinners, morgue area for funerals and parking.
The completion date of the building is planned as June 2021.
